How to Obtain Service Google Friend Connect (GFC)

Google Friend Connect (GFC) is a social networking-based service provided by Google that allows website owners to form a community and interact with each other. I will not linger to explain it because the reader can open my previous posts that discuss more into details about this GFC. Please go here to read it.
As I promised at the end post, then in this section I will explain the steps to get the service GFC and use it to form a community with millions of other website owners. Here's a guide to get the service GFC:

WEBSITE NONBLOGSPOT

   1. You must have a Google account because the service provided by Google. To learn how to create a Google account please go here.
   2. Click http://www.google.com/friendconnect address in your browser, you will go to the page GFC.
   3. GFC is supported by some widget (gadget) as a tool for forming communities, such as widgets comments, rating widget, widgets members, and others. Examples of widgets but even that I described in my last post. Widget tersebutlah would you add on the website. By using widgets that you can either invite others to follow other people sites and at follow by others, share links, videos, comments, and others. In order to obtain and use these widgets, there are several steps you need to do which I will describe the next step. Continue ..! (Yes campaign bang?). Ha3x.
   4. In this case we will try to get a widget for use on site nonblogspot. Because blogspot is a service that is provided by Google, then the step to add more simple widget. I'll describe after this one. For any site other than blogspot, we should set up our site at this GFC. This example can be applied to websites WordPress CMS and other standard web site.
   5. At GFC page, click the menu link Set up e new site that is on the top left.
   6. You will be shown 2 options set up, that Friend Connect is for standard web sites and Friend Connect for Blogger blogs. Since we will be adding on nonblogspot site, then choose the first by clicking the link Friend Connect for the standard web site.
   7. Next will be shown Overview page that describes the steps that will go through in obtaining services GFC to our website. Click the Continue link on the bottom.

  8. The next section is the page Tell us about your site that asks you to write data to your website. In the Site name fill in the name of your website. While in the Home URL content with your website URL. Do not forget to use the prefix "http://". Then click the Continue link on the bottom.
   9. The next step is you are prompted to enter 2 pieces of files into the server hosting your website. These files are "rpc_relay.html" and "canvas.html". Download the first two files and then save it to your computer. Furthermore, re-upload the files to the server hosting your website. You must enter into the main path of your website, not into folders website. So that later the URL of the file is http://www.websiteanda/rpc_relay.html and http://www.websiteanda.com/canvas.html. As for how to upload files to the server hosting you can read here. After that click the Continue link.

  10. The next step is to set up testing you have done. Test setup aims to test whether the setup is correct you do that which is done by checking whether two files that you downloaded earlier actually been incorporated into the server hosting your website. Click the Test button to finalize the setup.
  11. If the file is not inserted into the server hosting and in accordance with the Home URL of your website, then you will come back to the previous step and will display an error message like the picture below. For that, please check whether you have already uploaded the files in the correct path in your hosting server. Then click the Continue link and you will be back in step 10 to perform testing setup.
  12. If it is correct, then you will go to the next page, the page Add a Members gadgets to your site. Up here you have actually managed to get the service GFC to your website earlier. Site Look at the left of this GFC. You will notice that had increased in the menus for your new website set up (set up) earlier.
  13. The next step is to add a widget GFC on your website that one of them adds widgets member. Click the link Get code for the Members gadget to add a widget (gadget) is.
  14. Next you will go to the page Set up the Members gadgets. There are some parts that you need to set:
          * Choose the gadget's size: This section is to set the column width of the gadget and the number of members.
          * Choose colors: This section is to set the coloring gadget member
          * Create the HTML code: Click the Generate button code to get the code of the gadget member. That code would appear that you include on your website
          * Copy the code into your site: Copy and paste the code was that you generated earlier to the part where you want to show the widget (gadget) GFC member earlier. For example for Wordpress CMS website, if you want to display this gadget GFC members on the sidebar, then copy and paste was the sidebar.php file or the like. BlogSpot

   1. Because blogspot and GFC is a service provided by Google, then when you create a blog on blogspot with a Google account, they are integrated. That is, to get the service GFC, you do not need to do steps 1-11 as the WEBSITE NONBLOGSPOT above. When entering into the page GFC (http://www.google.com/friendconnect), you'll see that on the Side has increased the menu to set the GFC on your blog as I mentioned in step No. WEBSITE NONBLOGSPOT 12 in section above.
   2. To add a widget (gadget) GFC on blogspot, you will do the same thing as step No. 14 on the WEB NONBLOGSPOT above. However, it was copy and paste the code in the gadget HTML / JavaScript. The trick is:
          * On your Blogger dashboard, click the Layout link. Select submenu Page Element.
          * Click the link Add a gadget on the layout of your blogspot. Then select the gadget HTML / JavaScript.
          * Paste kanlah code-widget (gadget) GFC that you get in the box HTML / JavaScript, and then click the Save button.

Other Ways Adding Gadgets on Blogspot Member GFC
Actually by doing the 2 step on BlogSpot section above, you can add gadgets member GFC on blogspot. However, actually on blogspot also have available a widget (gadget) GFC member who lives you have added without having to first generate the code from the page GFC (http://wwwgoogle.com/friendconnect)

   1. On your blogspot dashboard, click the Layout link. Select submenu Page Element.
   2. Click the link Add a gadget on the layout of your blogspot. Then from and select the gadget follower.
   3. Please adjust the coloring of the gadget, then click the Save button

Besides gadgets GFC member, you also can add a widget (gadget) GFC others such as social bar gadgets, gadgets comment, rating, and so forth. Please select a menu of existing Social Gadgets on the Site which is on page GFC. There is available a complete instruction on how to add gadgets to your website.
